Care Instructions

Keep Your DROP17 Gear Looking Fresh

Your DROP17 hoodie is built to last—350gsm heavy-loop fleece, pre-shrunk, and engineered for durability. Follow these care instructions to keep it looking and feeling brand new, drop after drop.

Washing Instructions

Before First Wear

Wash before wearing. Even though our hoodies are pre-shrunk, washing removes any residual dye or manufacturing residue and ensures optimal softness.

Machine Wash

  • Temperature: Cold water (30°C / 86°F or below)

  • Cycle: Gentle or normal cycle

  • Detergent: Mild liquid detergent (avoid bleach or harsh chemicals)

  • Load Size: Wash with similar colors; avoid overloading the machine

Turn Inside Out

Always turn your hoodie inside out before washing to protect the exterior fabric, graphics, and numbered tag from friction and fading.

Avoid Bleach

Never use bleach or fabric softeners. Bleach damages the fibers and fades the Cincinnati Heat Orange colorway. Fabric softeners reduce the fleece's natural breathability.

Drying Instructions

Air Dry (Recommended)

For best results, hang or lay flat to air dry. This preserves the fabric's structure, prevents shrinkage, and extends the life of your hoodie.

  • Hang on a sturdy hanger or drying rack

  • Avoid direct sunlight (can fade colors over time)

  • Allow 6–12 hours for full drying

Tumble Dry (If Needed)

If you must use a dryer:

  • Heat Setting: Low heat only

  • Time: Remove promptly to avoid over-drying

  • Dryer Balls: Use wool dryer balls to maintain fluffiness (optional)

Note: Repeated high-heat drying can cause minimal shrinkage (1–2%) and reduce fabric softness over time. Air drying is always best.

Ironing & Steaming

Ironing

  • Heat Setting: Low to medium heat

  • Method: Iron inside out to protect graphics and fabric

  • Steam: Use steam if needed for stubborn wrinkles

  • Avoid: Do not iron directly over printed graphics or numbered tags

Steaming (Preferred)

A handheld steamer is the safest way to remove wrinkles without risking heat damage. Hold the steamer 1–2 inches away from the fabric.

Stain Removal

Treat Stains Immediately

The faster you treat a stain, the easier it is to remove.

Spot Cleaning

  1. Blot (don't rub) the stain with a clean, damp cloth

  2. Apply a small amount of mild detergent or stain remover

  3. Gently work the solution into the fabric with your fingers or a soft brush

  4. Rinse with cold water and blot dry

  5. Wash as normal

Stubborn Stains

For oil-based or set-in stains, pre-treat with a stain remover before washing. Avoid harsh scrubbing, which can damage the fleece fibers.

Storage Tips

Hang or Fold

  • Hanging: Use a sturdy hanger to maintain shape (avoid wire hangers)

  • Folding: Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place

Avoid Compression

Don't store your hoodie in tightly packed spaces for extended periods. Compression can flatten the fleece and affect its structure.

Keep Away From

  • Direct sunlight (fades colors)

  • Damp or humid environments (promotes mildew)

  • Moths and pests (use cedar blocks or lavender sachets if needed)

What to Avoid

❌ Don't Use Bleach

Bleach weakens fibers and destroys the Cincinnati Heat Orange colorway.

❌ Don't Use Fabric Softener

Fabric softener coats the fleece fibers, reducing breathability and moisture-wicking properties.

❌ Don't Dry Clean

Dry cleaning chemicals can damage the fleece and printed graphics. Stick to machine washing.

❌ Don't Wring or Twist

Wringing can stretch and distort the fabric. Gently squeeze out excess water or roll in a towel instead.

❌ Don't Over-Wash

Washing after every wear isn't necessary. Spot clean minor stains and air out your hoodie between wears to extend its life.

Pilling & Fabric Care

What is Pilling?

Pilling (small fabric balls) can occur naturally with fleece over time due to friction. It's not a defect—it's normal wear.

How to Remove Pills

  • Use a fabric shaver or lint remover

  • Gently pull pills off by hand (avoid pulling too hard)

  • Wash inside out to reduce friction

Prevent Pilling

  • Wash with similar fabrics (avoid rough materials like denim or velcro)

  • Turn inside out before washing

  • Avoid over-washing

Numbered Tag Care

Your numbered tag is part of what makes your DROP17 hoodie exclusive. Handle it with care:

  • Avoid excessive pulling or tugging

  • Don't iron directly over the tag

  • Turn inside out when washing to protect the tag from friction

If your numbered tag becomes damaged or detached, contact us at Help.drop17@gmail.com—we'll work with you to verify authenticity and explore options.

General Maintenance Tips

Refresh Between Wears

  • Hang your hoodie in a well-ventilated area after wearing

  • Use a fabric refresher spray (optional) to eliminate odors

  • Spot clean minor stains instead of washing the entire garment

Rotate Your Wardrobe

If you own multiple DROP17 pieces, rotate them to reduce wear on any single item.

Repair, Don't Replace

Small issues like loose threads or minor seams can often be repaired. Contact us at Help.drop17@gmail.com if you need help with repairs or warranty claims.

Warranty & Defects

DROP17 hoodies are built to last, but if you experience a manufacturing defect (loose stitching, fabric flaws, etc.), contact us within 30 days of purchase at Help.drop17@gmail.com.

We'll assess the issue and offer a replacement or refund if the defect is covered under our warranty.

Normal wear and tear (fading, pilling, shrinkage from improper care) is not covered.
